Are we overblogging the Internet?

Is Google forcing us to create content and information that is completely useless just to fill the proverbial bill?

We all know that a blog or unique content is necessary in order to gain the required authority and back links that are required by the search engines for the best possible ranking position on the SERP's, but consequently, it also produces unwanted results.

As most of us are well aware of, not that long ago, people were spinning articles and writing tons of nonsensical content just to create back-links. Software was adding content to sites at an alarming rate filling the SERP's with millions of unread useless pages. Much of this content has been removed and this is no longer the case.

I ask, have things really changed all that much?

I believe that it is better, however, I do not believe that it has changed enough.  I just think people have gotten better at crafting content.

In other words, we are still loading the Internet with useless information, we are just doing it in a more grammatically and uniquely correct way.

Because we are somewhat forced to continually add unique content, we are literally filling the airwaves with information that is not really that important. Bloggers are simply writing to make money, content writers are writing to create quality backlinks and articles are being submitted to gain authority.  It is not really newsworthy and not very informative, it is simply content and nothing more. Most of it is not even correct.

In the scheme of things, how valuable is this data really? Not at all.

Take for example, this blog, is it really necessary or factual?  No, it is just another story and my opinion. Does my opinion really matter to the world?  Does that mean the Internet is now just one gigantic opinion storybook, who knows?

The point seems to be that no matter how hard Google attempts to make changes, people will always find ways of manipulating it. It has made great improvements and I for one would not want it to go back to the days before social media changed it all.  The internet may be filled with a bunch of opinions and stories but at least they make sense and are not robot nonsensical entries.
